I might be crazy, but are the guitars playing in the background of History Repeating Pt. 1 the same as the beginning of I Want To Be The One?

That would make "I think I've played this song before" make an insane amount of sense.

I don't think they're the same, but the one is at least reminiscent of the other.

To be honest, I've listened to this album so many times that I've come to see "I think I've played this song before" as The Megas mocking my obsession.

If anything it's in a different key (minor?).

Also I like how deep these discussions have gone. I think the deepest conversations we had from Get Equipped was whether or not Flash Man was gay (which he wasn't)

I dunno, I seem to remember someone carefully crafting a rather eloquent argument for Metalman being gay, based solely on the fact that he uses the word "finesse". That's some deep and intellectual discussion.

Well it's because the music has gotten a lot deeper. The songs on Get Equipped were mostly straight-forward and it was obvious who was meant to be singing them. On the other hand, I wasn't even convinced Spark Man was the one singing Sparked A War until I heard the new version. So you can imagine how much discussion the songs that are actually very deep and confusing are going to generate.

Nah man, I thought all these deep thoughts about Get Equipped. I just didn't post them because I figured people had already discussed the hell out of 'em.

Are robots capable of being gay?

It's not like they have a choice in the matter, they walk the program.

Yeah, like, I didn't even realize this was debated. I always thought it was pretty straight forward he was gay, at least for Megaman anyways. Maybe I just instantly took that song to the most tragic and dark place it could go though, instead of the more obvious & less deep area.

I believe it has been confirmed that The Megas were under the false assumption that a robot can admire another robot's capabilities WITHOUT swinging for the other team.

Huh. I can get that, I guess...

But I still like the idea of him being gay better.

Just cause a Robot Master's lonely and would like some Mega company doesn't mean he's gay. But he definitly had an unhealthy obession with the blue bomber

Me too, I always thought it was cute...other than the whole murdering each other bit.

See, from a story standpoint, that's what makes the song so powerful to me. It's cute on the surface that Flashman fancies Megaman and admires him & what not. Then it turns downright tragic when you realize he's doomed to be killed by Megaman, as neither can go against their programming. It especially makes the closing lines all the darker as it can be taken as Flashman basically letting himself be killed, rather than kill Megaman, & wishing he could freeze this last moment they're together forever.
