Hey guys Mikey here. I'm hoping to achieve a lot of cool things in 2012, and also make a lot of positive changes. The Megas at Magfest was a great start to the year. I fly back to San Diego in a few days where I'll be playing a re-uinion show with Agent 51 which will also be really awesome.
I'm working on a Michael Hell acoustic record (which should have tons of special guest appearances), as well as working on "History Repeating" with the boys. I'm also hoping to establish a new home base towards the end of the year, and pursue some academic enlightenment. AND I'm planning my wedding to Lead Megette HVL! Feel free to hit me up with ?'s about any of these things.
I am the most economically challenged Mega, and as so I'll be looking for ways to fund my creative ventures. I've thought about setting up a kickstarter for my acoustic record but I'm not quite sure yet. If you guys have any fundraising suggestions I'd love to hear your ideas. I've also thought about offering up items such as drumsticks used at shows, cymbals, and possibly even my custom Blue Bomber snare drum made for me by Bill Detamore of Pork Pie, which I recorded Get Equipped and History Repeating on.
Any ideas and/or feedback is welcomed. Cheers friends.

I might possibly be down to buy some cymbals, mine are garbage. I don't think I could buy your snare drum though, that just doesn't seem right. At least not until you have a nicer one.
What happened to your 8-bit paintings? Have you thought about doing that again?

I would buy some 8-bit paintings to hell and back if it would help fund a Mikey Acoustic record!
When it comes to Cymbals, my brother loves more, so that would always make a good present for his next birthday.
No matter what it is. I'll help every way I can!

I still do the paintings. Maybe I'll start up a kickstarter and use some of this stuff as larger incentives. Signed sticks as lower to mid level incentives, and then paintings, used/signed gear liked cracked cymbals, and then the snare as the top tier incentive. Any other ideas, wants, or possible incentive ideas?

TAKE MY MONEY
Also, what is the fate of you and Han VanLanHam? I know she was east coast, so are you all staying west coast? Also will Them Egas also be performing at your wedding?
As for your Acoustic Hell gig, why not write short songs on commission. They don't have to be the most in depth of tunes but some people pay for things like that. There was a duo at my college that did that for Valentines day. Don't know how much they charged but I know that they did play a lot of songs.

I think the song thing is a great idea. I couldn't afford to do them all in a studio, but I could rip through personal songs on my home set-up, and even incorporate desired lyrics/words/themes. That could be really cool.
As far as HanVanlanhamchan and I, my goal is to move to her coast. I like it east. Right now we are sorta both bi-coastal. Most Megas shows are on the east coast so I don't see it being much of an issue.

I don't need an incentive. But if I was going to want one... I dunno.
Perhaps, along the same route of commissioned songs, perhaps we could specify covers for you to do. I think that might just be cool.
I'd love to hear Mikey Hell cover the good 'ole "Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails.

Why choose between salsa or waltz? I believe in you Mikey, combine the two.

I assume that once you guys get tied down, you're probably going to want to move to the east coast for a more permanent residence. I assume that you'll
UNFORTUNATELY
be leaving The Megas. At least that's the conclusion I'm jumping to. I know that the band has said that it doesn't know what it's doing after 3. There were talks of doing X but someone opposed it. So when you do go east coast, what are your plans? Are you just going to get a big boy job? Are you planning on getting back with Area 51? Are you going to focus on your Acoustic Hell stuff? or maybe make your own new video game band since you will be in the epicenter of all of that stuff over there.
tl;dr
What are you doing musically, if anything, after the move?

I was wondering when someone would ask that question Jay C. I would never quit The Megas. We only play a few times a year at conventions, and most of those cons are on the east coast, so I believe we could still carry on normally. Since we play to a click now it makes practicing independently a lot easier too. When the time comes the decision will ultimately be in the hands of the other dudes, but I'm not too worried about it.
As far as a big boy job goes... working is the last thing I want to do, but I've been putting it off for way too long. I'd like to finally get a BA degree. Believe me if I could have it my way The Megas would be a full time touring band and I believe we would do extremely well, but the other Megas have great success and desirable jobs so I don't blame them for not wanting to sacrifice their stability.
As for the next step for The Megas after MM3, I beieve it will be The Belmonts. Its taken SO LONG to get MM3 out, I believe the guys will most likely want to take a short break mentally from MM after The album drops. Josh also seems pretty into the whole Castlevania thing right now. After The Belmonts I could see MMX happening... if we're not 50 and swimming in babies. - Keep in mind this is just me giving you my personal prediction.
And as far as what I would do musically on the east coast... I'm not sure but I would do something for sure. I've always wanted to jam with Rare Candy. Maybe JD could jump on guitar. Who knows. The possibilities are limitless.
