My vote goes to Break Man.

There's raw emotion behind that song, not to say that the other songs don't. When they sang "I had a name, my father called me Blues." I almost teared up.

Have to agree that I'm Not the Breakman would be my choice for submission.

Speaking of which, Josh, am I correct in believing that Proto Man was there during the Crash Man song?
Crash Man wrote:

The breath stops. Mine?
Time for battle?
Yes.

Twenty songs. Wow. We have heard, what, seven? They're all amazing, too, really above and beyond the old stuff (which I love). I... am really excited to see what the other thirteen are and how they turn out.

Sad to hear no Doc Robot, but that makes a lot of sense. Also, with 20 tracks, I'm not complaining about one more. That would just be silly.

Also, I've been wondering, the other two albums more or less follow the track of the games. I'm wondering if this one does also? I mean, with Wily's "reformation" and the fight against the Robot Masters separate from him? The songs so far have seems pretty clear that Wily is evil, or the one behind everything, but maybe that'll be different when the songs are arranged on the album. I'm just wondering if there's a song from Light/Wily while the latter seems to be a good guy.

Well something that was pretty cool was Look What You've Done from the Megatainment EP. The song is from Wily's perspective and it makes you feel bad for him.
Wily wrote:
How quick you had him dispatch his brothers
You called this murderer a savior.
...
I can see the headlines now.

“Megaman has ended the evil domination of Dr. Wily
and restored the world to peace.

There is something similar to this in Snake Man's lyrics about how Mega Man is killing the one's who are just like him for what reason? It was something interesting that I never thought of before.

@majin Thanks! Good to hear the new songs are awesome. There's been talk of touring when the album is out. But we're not sure. It's difficult for most of us to take much time off from our jobs to tour. But I'm sure at the very least we'll come out to the east coast for one of our patented mini Megas tours.

@ghostpikmim Probs. Greg's usually in charge of PR and communicating with the outside world. But we've talked about giving a track to OCremix. Just not sure which one. We'll have to put it to a Megas vote.

@comm The Rock Band thing is on indefinite hold. Our bud (future podcast guest) Chris Lewis was putting together a Rock Band version of some of our songs but was afraid that he couldn't put them out because of Capcom. We're pretty sure they wouldn't attack us but he didn't want to put in all that work and then just be turned down. BUT now Capcom has been talking to us about signing us as an official Capcom band. BUTTT that has its own hoops to jump through and no one speaks Legal jargon so its taking forever.

@chickensoup That's great to hear. I'm glad so many of you guys dig I'm Not the Breakman so much. We were thinking of releasing another single when the album release was officially set, but I think we were originally thinking of Can't Stop the Top as the track.

@JayC & @toomuchcoffee I'd like you guys to decide what's going on in Crashman. I don't want to spoil the fun by telling you everything.

@learned Kinda. Wily DID "reform" and help build Gamma, BUT at the start of the album he's already made clear his evil intentions and robbed Light's lab BEFORE Rock starts fighting the Robot Masters. And, yes Wily gets a song from his point of view.

@breeding: That's what it sounded like, was just curious. Am excited to see another Wily song, Look What You've Done was excellent, and and so is WTBTOTWYD (assuming that's still a mutual thought). Am excited to see all the songs, though, really.

@Jay C: Yeah, the parallel is part of what made me feel like it was obviously Wily. There's a real feeling of "Why are you Good and we Bad? You're a hypocrite!" It's delicious.

Actually, all the songs we've heard so far for MM3 have been a lot more... seductive(?), I feel like. I mean, in Get Equipped Flash Man WANTED Mega Man to switch sides, but never had a means to do so. Spark Man and Top Man both seem equally convinced that they're on the side of Right, and Snake Man is actively leading Rock into temptation. At the same time, with the way Light is pressuring him, and Proto Man's tragic story... I imagine there's even more doubting this time. It seems pretty clear this is about the last thing Mega Man wants to be doing with his life.

Also, so far all of the Robot Masters we've heard from seem more confident. In the original there was a handful that seemed a bit more aware of their mortality... Well, I guess they were cocky. But it's more like with Elec Man, there's this sense of "For Great Justice!" behind their actions. The actions are the same, but the motivations aren't as personal, or they're maybe just more unified? I guess we'll need to hear from the other five before judging, though...

Anyway... I love analyzing these things, possibly too much. I am sure when the other half of Megatainment is out and MM3 is too, I'll do up some kind of huge analysis of the story told across all three albums, or something. They're really neat.

P.S. Also, while Can't Stop the Top is amazing and wonderful, I'm Not the Breakman is just... moreso. I don't know how to explain it any better than that.

Honestly, I would put the opening title theme (History Repeats) up on OC Remix. It sets the tone for the entire album.

One more things Josh:
When you guys are all said and done with MM3, and maybe go back to remaster "Get Equipped" (Get Re-Equipped) with your keyboard dude; can you please include a HARD CORE rock out theme to the MM2 title song?

There's barely any out there that are any good. I feel like it's just a rockin' song that gets overlooked all the time.

I really enjoy all the stuff you put out.
I don't mind if I have to wait another few years for it... if it's good.
Then it's all worth it. And I enjoy all that you put out.
I'm practically saying "TAKE YOUR TIME MAKE IT GOOD LOL".

But yeah, Get Re-Equipped would be cool.

Also, Legitimate Capcom band.
That's totes awesome.

@Knave: Something to take into account is that this is Wily's sophomore tempt and making robots solo. With Mega Man 1 he had Light's help. The personalities of the Robot Masters from Megatainment are pretty cool. They're a lot more aware of the situation. In Mega Man 2, Wily has to build eight Robot Masters on his own. I mean he used Cutman's design to make Metal Man. He also was responsible for lame ones like Bubble Man and Wood Man. These Robot Masters developed personalities on their own; it's not like Wily made Air Man to hate everyone, he just turned out that way since he could only push people away from himself. In Mega Man 3 Wily has made all of his own original robots from scratch. These are his sons. Perhaps he actually spent time with them. There is a LOT stronger comradery in the lyrics and the music and the personalities are very developed.

At least that's what I think

@Majin: They're out there bro. You just have to look for them.

Gah, I feel like I missed a lot.

Which makes sense, given my waiting for the album to listen to some of the songs. May I just say, without having heard the song, Shed the Light sounds fantastic. So good!

Also without having heard I'm Not the Breakman, I still like to think that the "A whistle, an omen, the breath stops. Mine? Time for battle? Yes!" doesn't have to do with Proto. But if it did, that'd still be rad as I'll get out. But, I can't see why or how Protoman would be there. It's a cool thought, given the idea of the protowhistle, but I think it more likely refers to some sort of alert system that clues Crash man in on the fact that Megaman is breezing through his stage. Warning system, causing him to catch his breath. That'd be my guess, but I'm pretty sure it's easily up in the air.

I am exite.

Hold the phone, I thought Watch You Die was from Dr. Light's perspective? It fits well with his "hey Mega Man, you have to KILL Wily this time" theme, which is central to Fly on a Dog.

HIGHLIGHT FOR LYRICS :
"You chose a darker fate to sow
I watched you turn from friend to foe
it had to end like this, I finally know"

Sounds like Light to me, Wily wouldn't say that would he?

MORE LYRICS :
"I finally learned what torture means
You sent my firstborn back to me,
and put a gun in his dead hand"

sounds like Protoman to me, which would be Light's...

I know this was discussed before but I don't really remember...

Just some random questions ive been musing on, did a playthrough of MM3 today. Dont shoot me when im dancing is forever in my head during his stage.

1a.Hows the progress on needle man/Hard/Gemini/Yellow bugger
1b. 'Pins and Needles' for a needleman perhaps??

2.Is the Protoman in line for the last song on the album, Im expecting a epic long sad song with an awesome outro ;) *edited*

3.Any information what a Capcom official band would entail? it would be awesome if they flew you to places ( COUGH *UK PLEASE* )

4. Any plans on the copy robot. That douche always annoys me playing through MM3 as its hard for me to remember the new weaknesses against the mm2 masters.

Thanks :)

Hope my questions arn't too greedy , they can all be answered yes/no :)

1. Is the full protoman end theme in?
2. Did you keep"Dont fuck with magnet man" in the final Magnet man song.
3.Will Cutman/Gutsman Ever get a theme.

Thanks if any of these get answered !!!

@toomuchcoffeeman Thanks for the positive comments.
1. Yes. Though it's still only in rough demo form.
2. No. Don't fuck with Magnetman is out. Don't MESS with Magnetman is in.
3. and JayC answered this one.

@monkey No plans have been made yet to incorporate the Doc Robots. Sorry. It's difficult with the amount of characters and scope of the story to cover everything. A doc robot mention was originally planned for Hardman but it seemed sort of shoe-horned in there so it was scrapped for something awesome. But who knows? the albums not finished. They could make it in.
